Second Round...done!!

Whoo Hoo!! So good to have another batch of poison done. Got home today around 11:00am. Not too bad this time, having a bit of a sore, very dry mouth, and my jaw stiffens when tired. I'm afraid insomnia has taken over again, but I manage to nap throughout the day. I was told by my doctor to keep taking my sleeping pill until chemo is done, I need the rest. Justin still in Muenster with Grandma & Grandpa and although I'm really tired I miss him like crazy. They should be back tomorrow or Sunday. The hospital food was terrible, I hardly ate a thing this time, but ran my tube feeds. My appetite is not nearly as strong as it was the first time. I do crave anything sweet, but it's stuff that needs alot of work, like apple crisp and lemon pie. Hope Rosie (mom) is up for some baking this weekend. Thanks to Nicole, Ray, Reg, Cheryl, mom, dad, James, and Justin for their visits at the hospital.

I gotta tell you your comments are truly amazing and inspirational to me. All of you who "surprised " me, each gave such clear, great memories of growing up and how much fun really went on back then. At the time I knew how lucky I was to know all of you, but it's just so heart warming and touching to hear from you after all the years. Thank you so much!!! Especially for all the prayers and reminding me that I am a fighter and can win. Cancer isn't easy, it's a challenge and has some pretty tough moments. But when you get past those tough times with kind words from others, prayer, and positivity, I cannot describe the incredible feeling of warmth and surge of energy it gives me. I've told others that there is something inside me, in my stomach and in my heart, that feels like a little warrior waiting to burst out. I think she was always there, ready to fight, being stubborn, and not willing to give up. Cancer has woken her up and...let's just say she's angry...and has my teenage temper.

Well, that's how I'm feeling today, mostly tired. This blog is quite therapeutic and I thank you for listening to my ramblings.

Take care and God Bless! Roxanne

Hi Roxanne!
Well,Well, SPUNKY, God only gives challenges to those of us that can handle it and you my dear, are definately one of them!
My family has been praying for your speedy recovery since your first challenge and promise to keep it up 'til hell freezes over and the devil learns to skate', as my parents used to say! If you treat the big "C" like you used to kick that soccer ball around at school, well it just doesn't stand a chance. It has only been 20 years since that teenage attitude emerged :-), so I can't see anything stopping your optimism and enthusiasm from growing now!
Just received your blog site address and I am hoping it will be OK to send this on to Rory, Rick, Pat and the class of '86. I have lost contact with Ron since him and Jenn moved to Airdrie so if you could ask him to send me an update that would be appreciated.
I'm currently attending the U of S for my Master's in Nursing while working in NICU at RUH in Saskatoon. I know what a privelege it is to go into work and know how much you will be missing it. The good news is that there is a shortage and you'll be able to return to whatever position you want when you win your battle. Of course your most important work (being a Mom) will still be there and that is a great reason to keep those computer skills up.. as soon Justin will know just as much as you do, if he's anything like our three. The blog is insightful, informative and just brilliant! Kudos to Cheryl!
When you have appointments in S'toon or your "gangsters" need a place to stay just call 664-9589 or e-mail to skiryk@shaw.ca. I can't guarantee a clean house but can always cook and find a warm bed for guests to sleep in. Congratulations on the head shave! I would love to see that! Take care of yourself. It sounds like your support teams (especially your family)is doing that and I'm proud of them for that! You are truly blessed!
Love and Prayers, Sheila (Bergermann) Kiryk, Wayne, Mikaela, Shae and Tori.

Hi Roxanne,

Sounds like you and Trina had a great time together, catching up last weekend!! She has been keeping me posted, but now that I have this, what a great thing!!

Do you remember the blue car that you and I and Trina (and a fourth person that I can't remember right now) crashed into that older gentleman that ran the stop sign?! It's a good thing that Trina was wearing that long sweater, being that she ended up with a "jeans casualty"!!

We will continue to pray for you, keep strong and kick this thing!

Love always,
Ladine (Dauk) Kreshewski

I can't believe I was so careless in not rereading the first message before posting it. I'll blame it on the early morning. I apologize for the mistakes in your name.
