Good morning all. Well yesterday was a roller coaster of a day. It seemed everytime James called there was more discouraging updates.
When Roxanne went in for chemo Tues the doctors were very concerned with her breathing so Dr Salim sent her to a respiratory specialist where they said she has pneumonia in both lungs. Her breathing was still very difficulty and she does not talk due to that. Her heart rate is very high and they are very concerned about that (around 135-140ish). It is stable but they are concerned that it could cause a heart attack. Therefore they moved her to ICU for full care. They have been running many tests and found that the cancer is not shrinking. She needs CHEMO. Once they can get all of the above in order then they can start chemo. Hopefully that is soon.
She was very happy that her brother Ron and Jen came from Airdrie. Her brothers Ray, Reg and Nadine, her mom and dad and myself went up to see her. They were able to get James a bed so he could sleep up there with her. He stopped by here last night and is hanging in there. He got a little sleep Tues night before he had to plan for his substitute.
Roxanne is in the right place. She is a fighter and will beat this. She needs lots of rest and is taking anitbiotics to fight the pneumonia. When I was up last night she nodded that she was comfortable. Amen to that. She was not coughing as much which helps her to be more comfortable because as in earlier blogs that has been a battle of its own for her.
Justin stayed with Ava and Mabel Tues night. He had his Wed preschool. Then grandma and grandpa Strueby took him to play with Ethan and Olivia (Ron's kids) and Ava and Mabel (Reg's). He had a sleep over last night here and slept very well.
I haven't heard from James yet today but will keep this blog updated.
Keep praying and stay optomistic!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the comments and prayers.
Keeping you updated
Cheryl

Hi Roxanne, James and Justin
We are glad that you are resting comfortably and getting all the help you need to clear up the pneumonia. From past blogs, I think you were wondering if something had settled in your lungs. Once a nurse always a nurse to figure things out. Hang in there and then start that chemo! You are a trooper with so much spunk and heart. If you could bottle your attitude for life and family, then sell it,the world would be a much better place. Everyone here in Broadview is thinking and praying for you and your family. Thanks also to Cheryl for keeping us updated.
In our hearts and prayers always
Merv, Nadine and boys
Hi Roxy,
I was glad to here that James was able to stay with you last night. Let everyone take care of you so that you can get started on your chemo. As you can imagine, all your friends and family (both of which number in the hundreds) are sending you their postive thoughts so keep fighting!! We all love you so much!!
Hugs and kisses,
Lisa
PS Sandy.... don't feel bad!! I just spent 20 minutes trying to remember my password!!!
Dear Roxanne (my you have such a LOVELY name!!)
Last night Terry came to the hospital, and showed us your blog (unknown to me) So later when things quited down, I was anxious to try out this new wave of technolgy. I wrote away, and then unable to send!! So here I am tonight, persistance!! Though I haven't seen you for quite some time, I wanted you to know you are all in my nightly prayers. A person truly is lost for words, I just wanted you to know I truly admire your bravery, and sheer determination! May today bring renewed strength, and it can start with a huge hug (from someone else who has a lovely name!!) Say Hi to James. God Bless, and take care.
Love Roxanne MacPherson

Hi Roxanne,
John and Shelley Ripley have been keeping us updated, then they told us about your blog. It took me some time to finally get a message here-assuming this one works!!
We think about all of you every day, you are truly a fighter.
It's been so long since we've seen you - or Justin, Jordyn is still amazed that Justin sat on the beach at Greenwater Lake for 4 hours without a peep, while you and James were golfing. Carson wonders if Justin is still crazy about hockey. When he was over for a visit while James coached badminton all he said was "hockey, hockey, hockey"!!
Thank you for this blog, it is wonderful to be able to keep updated.
Keep fighting, take care and say HI to Justin and James for us.
You're all in our thoughts and prayers,
Desi, Dean, Jordyn and Carson
Talked to Roxanne's parents a couple of hours ago and the news was devasting - Roxanne was told she is dying and it could be a matter of two weeks or one day.
Please everyone, let us pray for Roxanne tonight - either the good Lord take her gently or that a miracle can be bestowed up her to beat this terrible disease. We all know it is in God's hands now. No, he did not give her cancer but perhaps he can intervene as he can see she is loved so much by so many. Roxanne is truly a child of GOd. I myself have been praying all day that at least he gives her some extra time to raise her son as Justin needs his mom. This has been so unreal.
